| Attending a trade show can be an effective
and efficient way of reaching a target audience in your industry. However,
drawing attendees of the trade show to your trade
show booth (over that of your competitors) depends largely on the
quality and type of trade show display you have.
One of the most cost effective ways of having an attractive trade show booth is the portable exhibit. Just as the name suggests, the portable exhibit can be easily and conveniently packed into cases. These cases can then be checked onto airplanes or shipped using traditional ground transportation means. Other types of trade show displays include the pop-up or panel. The "pop-up" display uses accordion-style folding frames, which are then covered with magnetic-backed fabrics or plastic panels. A "panel" display will typically consist of fabric-covered solid segments that are connected to make a wall. Obviously the type of trade show display you choose will be influenced by your budget. Basic 10-foot, convention displays will run about $3,500 to $5,000, while larger, customized displays can easily cost $7,000. Similarly configured pop-up displays and panel systems do not differ very much in price. In addition to the basic display cost, you will also have to pay for graphics, banner stand, and other accessories. Individual graphics that are attached via Velcro can cost $5 to $300 depending on the size. A full photomural that attaches directly to a display can cost about $1,200. |
